Thunder and The Cone

Today was a day like all my other days, I thought.  I went out to potty, normal.  I came in and no breakfast, humans sometimes do other things and then I eat, or do I dare say they forget, normal. Justice is out, i go out and play, normal.

I'm glad the ground was solid because
I had a bath yesterday, normal.  Mom said it was because I am going to the Vet, normal.

I come inside, still no breakfast.  Just water.  A puppy can't survive on just water.  I try to tell them but they don't give in like they usually do.  Not normal.

This is what I looked like before my bath and when I was trying to get a treat.  Mom didn't take a picture but it would have looked the same but with clean white legs because I started to look for missed treats.  I was getting hungry, still no food, not normal.  They say let's go to the Vet, I'm happy he gives treats, normal.

I get out and can't wait to get inside, normal.  I weigh 46.2 pounds.  Everyone is rubbing and loving on me, normal.  Wait I don't usually go this way.  Wait, wait it's a huge crate, Not Normal.  I put on my breaks, I look at Mom and Dad they looked worried.  They smile and reassured me but this was Not Normal.

I didn't know the Vet groomed dogs.  I've been groomed at other places but Mom is not going to like this.  Nails clipped and ears clean, normal.  One front leg shaved and private parts shaved, not normal. She likes a puppy cut but I'm done and happy to go home.  I need to potty and the Vet staff gets excited !  The next I know, what the heck?

I've had scarves before but they call this a collar. I tolerate the scarf but this is a collar, really?  I can't even walk, ever less potty.  We are home.  Still no food.  I lay down even though it is almost impossible with the new collar.  I wake up.  Mom finally feeds me and takes off the collar.  I tell Mom, I think I shouldn't go back to the Vets for grooming.  She said I wasn't groomed,  I said I know.  I said I think I was abused, you know, the privates being shaved.  She said I wasn't abused, I had surgery.  I now know why the boxer, in the BMW commercial, jumped out the window when he heard "neutering"!!!  Must have been why Mom and Dad never used the word, I had seen the commercial.  The word "surgery" is scarey and "neutering" is too but like all new things, it wasn't that bad.  I do have one complaint still 2 days later.  I am a Standard Poodle and one front leg shaved in front only, looks hideous.  They should have made both front legs match at the very least.  They are certainly not attentive to their clients self image

Thunder In Obedience Class

Thunder is doing well in obedience class but there are a few pitfalls.  The greatest being any other dogs.  He loves all of them, no matter how big or small, girl or boy, he wants to meet and greet them.  Some of them are very verbal in their  greeting back to him but quiet or loud he loves them all.  The Instructor took him and another dog to be released, when called by their owners to come to them.  I told her he would not because all the other dogs are way more interesting than I am.  She insisted.  Release number 1 after she released the other dog and Thunder.  He chased Piper, the Giant Schaunzer, right to her owner.  She's a beauty, I would chase her too, if I was a dog.

Release number 2 he went around the room getting the close up attention of all the other dogs, much to his delight.  After each release I was being instructed that I needed to be more animated and exciting so he would come to me.  I would have to surround myself with other dogs to be that exciting or covered with treats.  The only man who's dog came to him and was much more exciting than me, obviously, since his dog went to him,  decided he would show me the way.  Release number 3 the man called him and Thunder headed straight for him and I though, darn, it is me.  But wait, he sees a stray treat, his next favorite thing, can't pass up a free treat you don't have to work for.  The man called him again, but too late, he saw a dog and away he went and not to the man.  Do I know my dog or what?  He's not quite 6 months old, even though he is 42.3 pounds and 22 inches tall, he is just a puppy who really only wants to play.

Mom, I can go to my mat and lay.

I can walk up and down the ramp.

I can sit and stay.  I have to sit far back, when I am not suppose to take the
treat because it is too tempting to snatch it if I sit to close.  I figured that out all by myself.

Class makes me tired but I get to rest and have a lot of treats.  It is fun and I love the other dogs in my class.  I'm sorry I didn't go when I was called but really I couldn't help myself.

Thunder Gets A Bath

It is so muddy out.  Justice and I were playing so we had to come in and take a bath.

I was very dirty but I'm all clean again.

Don't I look handsome?  I even smell good again.

This is my brother Hunter, he looks like he will also need a bath.  Neither Justice or I got this dirty

Maybe next time, I don't mind taking a bath and getting wrapped in a towel and having my hair blow dried.  It feels good.

Thunder Goes To Obedience Class

I am going to obedience classes.  We learn to sit, lay, and play learning games.  We can not play with the other seven dogs but it is still fun.

We learn to go to our mat.

It is distracting, all the other dogs are so interesting, but I've got to listen to learn.

This is Piper, she is a Giant Schaunzer, I think she is beautiful.  She showed us how to walk on wobbly boards.  It was scarey for some of the other dogs but not for Piper and me.

I played with my new toy when I got home.  I got it from my Mom's niece, Moe's Mother.  I think it is so bright and it squeaks.  Thank you for thinking of me.
