Thunder and Khloe's Sock

I did not have a good day yesterday.  I had to go outside a lot but not to play.  I had potty issues.  It was hard to go and then it was coming too fast.  My Mom said I shouldn't have eaten the sock.  I ate a lot less yesterday because I didn't feel good.  We went to bed and Papa woke up because I was crying.  Mom got up and took me out, I almost didn't make it outside.  It was pure liquid and then I threw up.  I never threw up before.  I went inside and into my cage, retched and guess what?

Out came the sock!

I feel better now.

I feel good and potty is normal now.

The moral of this story is Don't Eat Socks.  I hope, I remember.

Thunder Is A Thief

I am in so much trouble.  I was out playing and Justice's garage door was open.  My Mom kept telling me to come back but I went in to look for Justice.  I did not find him but I found a beautiful green tennis ball.  I brought it home.  I would not let my Mom catch me.  As soon as she got near me, I would grab the green ball and run.  Finally my Papa came outside because it was very cold and he was worried.  He called me and I ran in the house with the green ball.  My Mom apologized to the neighbors.  The neighbors said I could keep it, which is good because we can't find it.  That was bad but today there was a new incident.  Baby Khole came to my Grandma's house.   She is cute so Mom picked her up and there it was a very little grey sock, just hanging on her foot.  I couldn't help myself, I grabbed it and ran, no one could catch me until it was too late.  I ate it.  Everyone looked for it, just like the ball, but it was gone.  I did not swallow the ball but I did swallow the sock.  It was small and I am cutting teeth.  Mom called me a thief again because it did not belong to me and Baby Khole had to go home with just one sock.  Grandpa said I was a bad boy so I layed down, looked sad and sorry so he said it was ok.

Baby Khole, isn't she cute?  I hope she doesn't tell Moe what happened to her sock, he might get mad at me.

Does this look like the face of a thief?

Or this?

Thunder and Rain and Thunder

The other day when I woke up and went outside, I stepped into slushie ice water.  It went over my paws and I did not like it. I tried to go back in the house but Mom made me continue.  The driveway was the same and then I was able to reach snow.  Even my favorite snow had changed.  Everytime I took a step, I would sink.  Back into the slushie ice water.  As soon as I got in the house, I was more cooperative than usual while I was getting my paws dried.  I love snow but slushie ice water not so much.  Later when I went out, it was raining.  Didn't care that much for rain either.  Rain makes you wet like a bath.  I prefer snow, I just shake off the snow.  Later I heard a loud noise and everyone said Thunder but I wasn't doing anything.

I told them it was the loud noise and not me but they kept saying Thunder.

I  stayed in most of the day and played with my toys and layed on my blanket.

I have a lot of toys.

Thunder - How Did That Happen?

I can see what is on the chair.

I was shorter than the hassock.

Now I am stuck between the couch and the hassock and can see over it.

I was shorter than Justice.

I weighted 5 lbs and was 9 inches tall.

I am still shorter but I'm getting taller.

I weigh 35.4 lbs and I'm 20 inches tall.

How did that happen?

Thunder And The Couch

was on the couch, I don't understand the couch.  Everytime I get on it something happens.  Like today, for example, I stood up and when I turned around, my back feet went off onto the floor.  It was scarey but I am not hurt.  It wasn't the first time, either.  I was trying to scratch my ear and I just stretched another time and off I went.  It is nice and comfy but you can't trust it.

I've decided to stay on the floor.  It doesn't drop me off like the couch.

I can move all over and no problems.

I can twist, turn, and stretch as much as I want but it's not as comfy on the floor.

I can sleep under the couch, it is nice and dark under there.  Sometimes I even find a treat or a toy.

Today I weigh 35.4 pounds.

Thunder Meets Moe

finally met Moe, we were both so excited.  Moe is a Standard Poodle, just like me.  We did our favorite thing, play!

Moe is smiling and so am I.

See me jump, I love to jump and pounce.

The snow is very tall.

The snow is taller than Moe.  Moe is taller than me but I'm only 5 months old and Moe is 5 years old.

Now I am taller than the snow and taller than Moe.

Monster said I would love Moe and he was right.  Moe and I miss Monster.  We are (forever home) relatives.

Thunder Loves Snow

I've had a fun few days.  Justice and I have  been playing in the snow.  We bark and run and roll in the snow.  It's been snowing a lot.  You can barely see me but that black spot is me in the snow.

We have a lot of fun.

We love the snow.

Better get home.

I'm covered in tiny snowy ice balls.

Thunder's Haircut

This is me before my third haircut.

The event started out with a ride in the car, one half hour.  Registered and taken away by a stranger in a strange place. Mom was smiling but seemed alittle uneasy, when she said "goodbye and see you later".  Then I had a shampoo and a blow dry.  I had some hair almost shaved with a clipper, some hair clipped short and some hair scissored and left longer.  My haircut has a name, it's called a poodle puppy cut.  Nails trimmed and ears plucked.  Bandana on and I was done.  When Mom said 'see you later", she meant later, It took 3 hours.  Papa came and picked me up.  We were so happy to see each other.  I walked slowly out of the building but as soon as I was safely out the door, I ran.  Normally, I'm afraid of stairs but I took them two at a time and bolted for the truck.  Another one half hour and we were home.

I understand, I look handsome, but really 4 hours is a bit much, don't you think?
It made me a little cranky.

I ate and took a nap.

When I woke up, I felt better and I realized that I do indeed look ruggedly handsome.

I'm not sure about the bandana.  What do you think?

Thunder's First Loss

                 In Loving Memory Of
              Monster Mandela Hewlett
        June 06, 2000 - January 11, 2014

Monster has been our puppy love for 13 years & 7 months.  He filled our lives with love.  He was a beautiful toy poodle, black with white on his chin and chest. He loved to be carried.   He loved to be carried in a bag and would get into a bag, even as an adult.  He loved to be carried home when he went for a walk.  Let's just say again, he loved to be carried.  He loved being held and cuddled and we loved to carry, hold and cuddle him.

He had his own pillow on the couch because he liked to sit up high.  He liked to watch Judge Judy and would wake up, sit up straight and listen intently to the Judge.  He would get off the pillow to be petted.  He would nudge your hand to continue if you got distracted.  He loved to have a doggy massage.  He was not spoiled because he gave back to us by always loving us every minute of the day, unconditionally.

His name was not descriptive of him or his personality.  He was a little mischievous, he would hide socks and food in his crate as a puppy and he never outgrew it.  He never liked his food bowl empty so when it started to get low he would take what was left and hide it.  He would then make a lot of noise with his empty bowl, until it was refilled.  He always loved riding in the car.  He continued to love car rides but he preferred to drive although was a good passenger.  One of his first car rides as a puppy was a long trip.  He was taken out of the car multiple times to potty but the adventure proved to be too much and ended in a warm, wet spot on Sharrice's lap.  He would get so excited when he would get close to somewhere he knew when riding in the car.

He always wanted to go out to potty because that meant a treat was soon to follow.  With the exception of a blizzard when he wanted to go out and thought better of it after the door was opened.  He stood on the threshold and hung his back leg and part of his body out over the stoop so he didn't go inside and he didn't end up in Oz.  Success and a treat.

He was always loving and loved everyone.  Even the cat who terrorized him when he was a puppy.  When he became an adult he would not allow her in any room he was in but who could blame it after all the kitten attacks he had endured.  His was just a game of chase, no real meanness, unlike her jumping on his back unexpectedly with claws out.  He was small but had a big bark causing a grown man to jump up on the couch, once or maybe twice.  Monster did hide behind us the year Moe came for Christmas.  Moe was a puppy and was playing like a stallion.  Rearing up on his hind legs, barking and running.  Moe wanted to play but in the beginning Monster was afraid since Moe is a standard size and Monster is a toy.  Prior to the other family members arriving they had worked everything out and they realized they were family and settled down.  He loved Christmas, he would open his own presents but sometimes didn't read the "Do Not Open Until Christmas" tag.  When the nephews brought their musical instruments to Christmas, he joined in and sang his heart out.  Everyone loved his singing and his Santa outfit.  He loved playing with the children because they gave the best hugs.
